My mom's interview

On September 04, 2009 is my mom's interview appointment at the US embassy in Manila, she is applying for a tourist visa so she can come here and visit us if ever she is approved. I'm really nervous and excited at the same time for her, its hard to get a tourist visa in the States but I'm hoping the Consul will grant her a visa.
Jaden really missed her Mamila, my mom took care of him when he was a baby.

My mom had her interview last month and unfortunately, she was denied... She would have been the one to watch for Daniel and take care of me after my next c-section, and will only stay here for 5 months, but then.....it made me very sad!

The reason of her tourist visa denial?
- She was unable to overcome the statutory presumption of immigrant intent because she failed to demonstrate sufficiently strong familial, social, professional and economic ties to the Philippines that will compel her return after a temporary stay in the United States .

Just keep your fingers crossed and please don't be discouraged after reading this, who knows, your mom will have a heart hearted consul that will grant her tourist visa... However, don't expect too much, and don't be surprised if she'll be denied....It's very common...

Goodluck on your mom's interview.

Yes, at the end of the interview, sasabihin agad ng consul kung approved or denied.

Widow kasi ang Mommy ko, saka housewife lang, kaya inisip siguro ng consul na wala na syang babalikan sa Pinas... But she brought with her alot of supporting evidences during her interview like land title, family pictures, my sister's certification from her college dean that she will be graduating on April 2009 ( kaya uuwi sya after 5 months stay sana dito ), my sonogram photos, and alot more, but the consul didn't even ask anything about those documents...
My mom has very strong ties to the States where her daughter resides ( ako ) while she failed to establish strong familial, social, professional and economic ties sa Pinas... We even asked the help of our Congressman here in GA, and they contacted the US embassy in Manila before the interview pero wala din...

It's sad because we have very good intentions about my mom having her here in the states, babalik din sya. So sa ngaun, maghintay na lang kami before mag citizenship ako saka ko sya ipetition, that's the only way for her to come here...
