Care packages
A soap with a hole in the middle and a note made by an Australian Army wife, its so unique and funny, if u cant clearly read the note here it is:
Willy washer
A daily willy washer, that surely is a treat, Its not to wash your hands or face, its not to wash your feet, It's only for your willy, Poke it in and give a scrub,
Make sure you only wash it though,be careful as you rub. Its only meant to clean it, not to give you a good time, Its just so that each and every day, you Willy's looking fine!
We as a military wife are very familiar with care packages especially when our soldiers are deployed overseas. In the states they even have themed care packages and they also have flat rate boxes, you can also request free boxes from USPS. In the Philippines it is called a Balikbayan box. I only send if he request something like lotion, food, socks, blanket, white shirts, boxers and candies. The cost of sending those boxes are more expensive than its content, but Its nothing compare to the smile on his face when he receives the package, he gets really surprised and excited as if he didn't know that I'm sending him some stuff.
I also talked to several military wives about care packages and they are very creative about the thing's they send to their beloved soldiers.
Recycled box
This was the box i sent last Christmas

Eat all you can
I'm so full tonight that I just want to lay down and close my eyes. My mum took us to Consuelo steak house, its an eat all you can dinner for only 99 pesos. Jaden likes the spaghetti because the sauce in quite sweet, he sat on our table and just picking the spaghetti by his hands, everybody was looking at him while he was doing that, it was a big mess but he didn't mind he ate it like we were at our own house, I don't know when he will learn some table manners. anyhow the food was great and tasty for its price, although we had to order for our soft drink because they were serving only juice and weird ice tea at that eat all you can.

How many other
Today is just any ordinary day but when I woke up this morning...I couldn't stop crying.. Some days is just too hard to hold it all in. But then I was thinking...How many other girls out there can say my husband, boyfriend, fiance did something for his country.... how many can say my relationship or marriage is now stronger because of 15 months apart...how many can say that they know what its like to cherish a few minutes phone call that you've been waiting because hearing his voice makes you happy, it made me think that even though there are days the tears come we are so strong and there are not many woman out there that can do what we do and know what its like to be so proud of the person they love.
How many other son's and daughter's who are eagerly waiting for their daddy to come home, so they can play with them.. so if your having a bad day just think about him and realize that you are blessed and happy because even if he is away you know that he is worth the wait.
Army families are strong

Fallen Warriors
I received 3 email notification of Vanguard fallen warriors from my FRG(family readiness group) yesterday, so I waited for my husband to get online, I wasn't able to talk to him before he went to work because I went out early in the morning to join rafting here. He told me about those rockets that hit outside their FOB, then I asked him if those 3 dead soldiers are from there, he said no. I feel so sad for the family of those fallen soldier, they will never be forgotten.
They have sacrifice their lives over this stupid war.
Thank God that I always talk to my husband everyday, it makes me worry and freak out if I didn't hear anything from him, I hope that he can come home soon and be with us.

White water rafting and ZIP line
At last I was able to go on rafting in Cagayan de oro river, before i only saw it on tv but today i did experience it. It was so fun especially when we encountered rapids along the river, and we learn that there are two things you should consider in rafting, first is safety at all times, second is you should have fun while doing it. It took us 5 hours and 24 rapids until we are finish, they taught us how to paddle and work as a team. later that day we went to do the ZIP LINE. I was trembling while walking at that hanging bridge and I couldnt look down because the cliff was like 100 feet high , Im so scared i might fall or something. I didnt even want to try the ZIP, I wanted to back out but thru the encouragement of Mr. Lewman i did it.. it was a nerve wrecking experience so far in my entire life I was shouting the whole time, i will never forget this adventure and if your planning a trip here in the Philippines, please do visit our place, CAGAYAN DE ORO CITY and try our white water rafting and zip line im sure your gonna enjoy it like we did.

easter sunday
We wake up at around 3 AM because we had to go to church around 4, there was a program (tagbo) and as a catholic we had to take part on that day, after the mass I borrowed some costumes so jaden can try it on, he looks so adorable wearing that wings, he is my angel.
In the afternoon we went swimming in coconut bay resort in baloi cagayan de oro city. Last year too we went there during Easter, jaden was only 5 months old then ang now he is already 16 months old. He loves the water, he was even excited to jump in the pool after we arrived. As expected the pool was crowded with kids and their parents like me, and my sister too. I couldn't resist taking a dip too. Jaden was so happy I can see it in his face that he is really enjoying that day. After the swim we had lunch and ohh boy he was so hungry that he couldn't wait for us to gave him some food, he just grab the pancit and chicken then put it in his mouth, we never saw him that hungry before. He was too tired that he fell asleep right away. I took some pictures of jaden while we were in the pool, eating and him sleeping.
Families torn by citizenship for fallen
I read this article today about those dead soldiers in iraq who just became US citizens, Its kinda funny, well whats the use of that when they are already gone, why do they have to sacrifice their lives in order to be a permanent resident of the United states of America, its too late for that.
i think their parents or wives can claim something from the government now since they have been recognize bu the government. It is just so sad that they died trying to protect America and it is just rightful for their families to obtain all the benefits, they are entitled to it for than anybody, after all they lost their life serving this country.

5 years
It has been 5 long years since the war in Iraq started, and nearly 4000 men and women in uniform have died. My husband has been deployed twice, in 2005 and last year. We are expecting for a 15 month tour now. I dont know much about politics and this war but one thing I am sure of, I want my husband back in a safer ground. Although were not yet living together since Im still here, of course I want a husband that I can come home to, a father to our son, I want a happy and complete family like anybody else.
I guess life is unfair sometimes, you cant have it all.
I've learned to be patient, understanding and more prayerful.
I always pray that God will guide and protect him at all times.

Military wife
This is for the women that are waking up at 6 a.m. every morning, laying out clothes and packing lunches for those small precious children that they have been left alone to care for.
This is for the pregnant military wife wondering if her husband will make it home in time to watch their miracle happen.
This is for the childless military wife, living in a town or on a camp alone where she is a complete stranger to her surroundings.
This is for the women that feel like a spare part when they go out with their friends and their husbands.
This is for the military wife that canceled all her plans to wait by the phone, and even though the phone broke up and cut off every time you spoke to him you waited anyway.
This is to recognize the woman that felt like she was dying inside when he said he had to go, but smiled for him anyway.
This is for those of you that are faithfully in that long line at the post office once a month, handling 2 large boxes and 2 small children like a pro.
This is for all the lonely nights, all the one-person dinners, and all of the wondering thoughts because you haven't heard from him in days.
This is for all of you no matter how easy or hard this was for you. Our marines/soldiers/airmen/sailors are brave, they are heroes, but so are we.
So the next time someone tells you that they would never marry a miltiary guy, don't bother explaining to them that you can't control who you fall in love with.
Just think of this and nod your head, know that you are the stronger woman.
Dear Soldier,
If I could take your hand tonight
I would hold onto you so very tight
Standing guard over you… this time
Until the early morning light
When the sun should rise tomorrow
If I could… I would be there by your side
For when the winds of sand and dust should blow
I would gladly shield your face and eyes
When your mouth should become dry
As you journey through the desert heat
I would be there in a heartbeat, the very first
Offering my last drop of water to quench your needed thirst
Through the cheering, and whispered words of love
The waving of our Red, White and Blue
As family and friends held you so near
You wiped away their frightened tears
For when we needed you
You stood firm… never flinching
Many seeing the pride within your heart and eyes
Like the mighty eagle that soars
Above our American skies
I know there are moments
That you will never let us see
Like those of fear and loneliness
Still I see great soldiers… fulfilling their duties
With heads held high, and there we witness...
Great pride, honor and dignity
When tonight the sun should set
As you are sitting among the many others…
Sometimes feeling alone
Thinking of your loved ones
You miss so much back home
Please remember…
There are many here... that love you so
Those whose hearts shall never forget
Being so very proud of everything you’ve done
People that pray day and night for your safe return
All I can do right now, Dear Soldier...
Is bow my head in humble thanks again
Asking our Heavenly Father, above
In guiding and protecting you, no matter where duty calls
In bringing you safely back to your home
Into the arms of those you love

Carousel
My son loves to ride in a carousel, whenever we go to the mall I always let him ride a carousel once or twice, he always run towards the horses and try to climbed at it even if he cant, he doesn't even want us to hold him while its turning around. I guess he is growing up so fast. Ive read somewhere that boy's are closer to their mommies and girls are more closer to their dad. Its true for me I am closer to my dad before when I was a kid but now that I became a mother I have learned to open up more to my mum, she helps me specially when it comes to Jaden, I have so much to learn from her. I'm thankful that she is here guiding me all the time. I don't know what i will do without her. It's challenging to raise your son on your own but I'm trying my best and hoping that soon we will be a complete family.

Daddy's Poem
Her hair was up in a pony tail,
her favorite dress tied with a bow.
Today was Daddy's Day at school,
and she couldn't wait to go.
But her mommy tried to tell her,
that she probably should stay home.
Why the kids might not understand,
if she went to school alone.
But she was not afraid;
she knew just what to say.
What to tell her classmates
of why he wasn't there today.
But still her mother worried,
for her to face this day alone.
And that was why once again,
she tried to keep her daughter home.
But the little girl went to school
eager to tell them all.
About a dad she never sees
a dad who never calls.
There were daddies along the wall in back,
for everyone to meet.
Children squirming impatiently,
anxious in their seats
One by one the teacher called
a student from the class.
To introduce their daddy,
as seconds slowly passed.
At last the teacher called her name,
every child turned to stare.
Each of them was searching,
a man who wasn't there.
"Where's her daddy at?"
She heard a boy call out.
"She probably doesn't have one,"
another student dared to shout.
And from somewhere near the back,
she heard a daddy say,
"Looks like another deadbeat dad,
too busy to waste his day."
The words did not offend her,
as she smiled up at her Mom.
And looked back at her teacher,
who told her to go on.
And with hand s behind her back,
slowly she began to speak.
And out from the mouth of a child,
came words incredibly unique.
"My Daddy couldn't be here,
because he lives so far away.
But I know he wishes he could be,
since this is such a special day.
And though you cannot meet him,
I wanted you to know.
All about my daddy,
and how much he loves me so.
He loved to tell me stories
he taught me to ride my bike.
He surprised me with pink roses,
and taught me to fly a kite.
We used to share fudge sundaes,
and ice cream in a cone.
And though you cannot see him.
I'm not standing here alone.
"Cause my daddy's always with me,
even though we are apart
I know because he told me,
he'll forever be in my heart"
With that, her little hand reached up,
and lay across her chest.
Feeling her own heartbeat,
beneath her favorite dress.
And from somewhere here in the crowd of dads,
her mother stood in tears .
Proudly watching her daughter,
who was wise beyond her years.
For she stood up for the love
of a man not in her life.
Doing what was best for her,
doing what was right.
And when she dropped her hand back down,
staring straight into the crowd.
She finished with a voice so soft,
but its message clear and loud.
"I love my daddy very much,
he's my shining star.
And if he could, he'd be here,
but heaven's just too far.
You see he is a Marine
and died just this past year
When a roadside bomb hit his convoy
and taught Americans to fear.
But sometimes when I close my eyes,
it's like he never went away."
And then she closed her eyes,
and saw him there that day.
And to her mothers amazement,
she witnessed with surprise.
A room full of daddies and children,
all starting to close their eyes.
Who knows what they saw before them,
who knows what they felt inside.
Perhaps for merely a second,
they saw him at her side.
"I know you're with me Daddy,"
to the silence she called out.
And what happened next made believers,
of those once filled with doubt.
Not one in that room could explain it,
for each of their eyes had been closed.
But there on the desk beside her,
was a fragrant long-stemmed pink rose.
And a child was blessed, if only for a moment,
by the love of her shining star.
And given the gift of believing,
that heaven is never too far.
I cant help but cry when i read this poem. I salute the men and women in the military, especially to those who are serving overseas.

Short people are most prone to jealousy, say scientists
PARIS (AFP) - Short people should pray for a return to the Seventies fashion of stack heels, for the power of jealousy depends on how tall you are, the British weekly New Scientist says.
** Im a short person, i wish i was taller but im not that jealous.
when i was in school i have some admirers, suitor and had few boyfriends. I was never intimated by taller women because I know i have an edge.. LOL.. ive learned that its not about the height, but its how you carry yourself around your friends and family.
Many men find my height and me cute especially my husband.:)
I hate wearing high heels, it makes my feet sore. I only wear comfortable shoes and sandals.

Celebrity Camel Boosts Troops' Morale in Kuwait
CAMP BUEHRING, Kuwait, March 10, 2008 – Like devoted fans, about 100 servicemembers anxiously awaited Clyde’s arrival here on March 7. And, like a true celebrity, Clyde was fashionably late. “I wanted to take a picture with the camel, but where is the camel?” asked Army Sgt. 1st Class Darlene Brent, with the 106th Financial Management Company out of Bamberg, Germany. “You got all these people standing out here and there’s no camel.”
Our troops overseas need somekind of entertainment too, at least they can forget about where they are for at least a few moments. Everybody wants to take a picture of that camel, clyde was really the star during this event.

Bridal shower
Today we went to xavier estates clubhouse to attend rubylyn's bridal shower, it was a simple get together, I took my mum with me so I can have somebdy to help me with jaden because we are gonna go swimming in the pool.
After few hours of fun, we decided to change because it was getting late and cold.
my mum took jaden to change and they went inside the clubhouse restaurant,
then something happened, my mum broke a wooden duck from indonesia, and they asked us to pay for it.. duh as if I have a choice. Accidents do happen when u least expected.
well that was just one of the situation that occur at rubylyn's bridal shower.
everyone was having fun swimming and picture taking. I was so happy seeing my son enjoyed every moment at the pool.

Farewell
how do you say goodbye to a friend? its hard to do because you wouldn't know when your gonna see them again. Last Feb.27 we went to Mel's despidida party and it was his fathers b-day too. Almost all of the girls are present. Since they are Christians, a pastor blessed the food, and he had a little sermon about how it is to be away from your loved ones. He even said that when he went for the first time to the states he cried at the airplane because he already misses his family back home. and he then jokingly said that we should wear shades while at the plane so others wont see you crying.
the party was held at Mel's family owned Thai restaurant. The food was great, everybody is enjoying the night. then their were champagne and margaritas everywhere.. It tasted good, i kinda liked the margarita better. Everyone was singing in the videoke that we cant almost hear each other.
It was a memorable event for us, we surely had fun that night.
Thanks Mel. and I know your in Hawaii now.
God Bless you always.
My digicam
Finally my Olympus digicam is here, I almost kissed the postman when he delivered it to my house and he asked for 35 pesos fee. My husband bought it last Dec. 2007, it was supposed to be my christmass gift,
since amazon.com dont deliver outside the states, he instead send it to his mum's address in south carolina, then my inlaw send it to iraq, it took 1 week to get there,
after he got it, he then send it to me via USPS because they dont have fed ex, or dhl there. He said it will only take two weeks to get here but it didnt arrived after two weeks. I almost give up, i thought it was lost or maybe someone from the post office took it, because ive heard a lot of stories about lost packages.
I became mad at my husband, I blame him for what happened, LOL.. poor jason...
and then 6 weeks after, here it is..
Im so happy I finally got it.. wow.. its amazing, it is so thin..
i really like my OLYMPUS fe280 its 8 mega pixel, its very cheap in the states but here its kinda expensive, i think i have the only digicam of this model here... i might be wrong though... im so excited to use it.
I wanted to thank my mother n law, the postman and of course my husband.. LOL
